Ministries of St. Paul'sThe mission of St. Paul’s is to minister in such a way that the church becomes a thing of beauty, in itself, and thus becomes a powerful force for service. We believe that in its life and ministry, the church offers the world a compelling alternative that is marked by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Daily PrayerCome join us for Morning Prayer, Monday through Friday, 7:30a-8:00a in the sanctuary, for a time of prayer, Scripture reading and Communion.

HEALING AT ST. PAUL’S
Healing is a feature of full salvation; like salvation, it results from God and church working together. Healing is the work of the church, and takes place under God's sovereignty in the church's life and worship.
The church supports the healing ministry of family, friends and medical professionals in prayer and by visiting the sick. It provides regular services of healing per the pattern in James 5: "[The] sick...should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven." Under God's sovereign care will every prayer be answered as we request, every time, right?-probably not. Some will be healed by medicine, some by rest, recuperation and care, and others by better habits and new information. And some will be healed by working together under the sovereign action of God through the engagement of faith of the church and laying on of hands. Some will not be healed in this life; all can be saved.
Children’s FormationGodly Play is offered for preschool and elementary-aged children 9:45-11:00a every Sunday morning. Godly Play creatively and imaginatively engages our children with the church’s stories, symbols and rites, preparing them for the worship and life of the church. For more information, contact Georgann Kurtz-Shaw.
Nursery Care is offered for the youngest members of our congregation during the first portion of our Sunday morning worship service. For more information, contact Ann Zanhaiser.

PotluckThe congregation of St. Paul’s believes that sharing meals is an important Christian practice.
On the second Sunday of every month we share in a potluck-style meal directly following our Sunday morning worship service. We believe that through meal sharing we are better able to embrace the world in friendship and hospitality. We believe that meal sharing is one of the most powerful ways that the church participates in the party that is the kingdom of God. Because it matters who is at table and who is not, all are invited to join around our tables of fellowship. All are welcome to share in this potluck style meal the second Sunday of the month in the St. Paul’s Fellowship Hall (after the service). |
Companionship Ministry
The Companionship Ministry of St. Paul’s Free Methodist Church works collaboratively with Prairie Counseling Center to help people get out into their communities, make social connections, and enjoy life. Volunteer Companions from St. Paul’s and Greenville College spend one-on-one time with people who are coping with emotional and social challenges. Through the friendship and practical help available from companions, people become more hopeful and they often feel they have more courage to face the challenges in their lives.
Please Contact Jim Zahniser to receive more information about the Companionship ministry, if you are interested in becoming a Companion or are in need of Companionship.
